Asakusa is a temple town, which flourished during Edo period(1603-1868). The atmosphere of old Japan attracts many tourists throughout the year. But also it is good access from central Tokyo. They have mainly 2 lines, Ginza line and Toei Asakusa line. In August, they have big fire work festival along Sumida River. You will see the fabulous Japanese traditional art in the dark sky at that time. Asakusa is a pretty commercial but also residential area. You will see the old Japanese scene in the street or buildings in this area.

Ojima is one of the good residence area for foreign people who works in Metro Tokyo.
Ojima, Higashi Ojima, Nishi Ojima has several UR complex as reasonable prices, also they provide you enough number of houses, so the possibility to get a house is reasonable. Daiei/supermarket, huge park, or another public facilities such as swiming pool are available.
Nishikasai is one of famous area in Higashi Tokyo. The location is only 15min from Otemachi, which is central Tokyo. Tozai line go across with Hibiya line or Ginza line, so you can go Roppongi or Akasakamitsuke in 30min by subway. The location is just by Arakawa River, so you will see good waking area or playing ground for your weekend. Supermarket or another public offices are just around the station. You will see the convenience and good security. This might be the reason, so many people from out side of Japan are making their living in this area.
Shinagawa was famous of only transit station before but now it is very much complex commercial area now as they have Shinkansen line and some headquarter like SONY is located and especially the Eastern side of the station were developed in last 10 years. In the Eastern side it has Intercity which is orval office building or several office buildings. And also good view for Rainbow bridge. In the western side, commercial area as Prince hotel with cinema or restaurant area. Eastern side is famous for resident area.
Ebisu and Meguro area are famous as shopping or fashionable area. Yamanote line, Nanboku line or Hibiya line are crossby. So, you will see good access to any central area in Tokyo. Yebisu Garden Place is one of Tokyo’s most pleasant cities within the city. Consisting of roughly a dozen buildings and skyscrapers, it features a large array ofrestaurants and shops including a Mitsukoshi department store, the Westin Tokyohotel, offices, residential space and two museums.
Kawasaki is the one of the most popular area for living and weekend life. Big commercial area which is called RAZONA, including food, book store, electric shop/Big Camera, even cinema is there. The building is auditorium style and you can spend a relaxed time. There are mainly, 2 complexs in the western side of the JR Kawasaki station and 3 complexs in the eastern side.
Yokohama is one of the big city in Japan. It is located 30min from Tokyo by JR line and they have commercial and business area called Minatomirai. You can access by JR, Keihin kyuko line, and Toyoko line/subway. It is also very famous of scenic beauty. Landmark tower, bay bridge, Yamashita park, China town, Minato no mieru oka park, it is hard to count. Rent market is a little bit higher but, UR provide you some reasonable houses on this area too.
WESTERN TOKYO AREA
Western Tokyo Area is famous of green. Chuo line, Keio line, Seibu Shinjuku line, or Odakyu line is available.
Most famous town is Kichijyoji on Chuo line. Inogashira park is loved by many foreign people and Japanese people. There are many reasonable complex around these area. Some complex is more than 10min walk or bus. But it seems they do bicycle because of the fun ride to station in this area. It is also famous of educational organizations as universities.
